Our History
Epiphany Church – Dulaney Valley was started in 1960 as a mission church in the growing suburbs of Baltimore County. Services were initially held in a bath house in the Pot Spring neighborhood of Timonium. By 1964 Epiphany had grown and prospered enough to build a new church on Pot Spring Road, near the original site. The church was successful in attracting members from the northern Baltimore County suburbs, and by 1975 an expansion was undertaken that provided additional classrooms and a common room.
Epiphany launched a day-care program in 1981 that continues to serve working parents in the area to this day. Later in the 1980’s the day-care operation was expanded, more office space was created, and more classrooms were added for Sunday school programs. During this time Epiphany added a new tracker pipe organ that enhances our services. It also has attracted the attention of area musicians for special concerts and functions. Beautiful contemporary stained glass windows were later installed that help to create a truly unique place of worship. Stunning tapestries adorn the walls in celebration of each church season.
During the 1990’s and early 2000’s Epiphany’s day care program added enrollment, and the church continued to improve its physical plant with the addition of air conditioning and new lighting. A memorial garden was created on the grounds where the ashes of parishioners and friends may be interred.
Today, Epiphany is known as an "outreach parish" that continues to emphasize a welcoming, visitor-friendly atmosphere where each person is treasured for who they are. The church is an open, diverse community where our parishioners find room to grow and prosper in Christ. We offer programs for people of all ages from the youngest children to our seniors. Visitors are always welcome and new members are guided into full participation!
