Outreach Programs
Epiphany has a long tradition of actively supporting outreach programs, and many know us for this rewarding aspect of our ministry. Whether it’s in support of our parishioners, our suburban neighbors, our brothers and sisters in the inner city, or our world community, Epiphany is responding to the mission of God in the world. We find that we meet Christ in those we serve. The satisfaction of knowing that we make a difference in the world is extremely gratifying and it strengthens our understanding of our Christian faith.
We support a number of programs that fit within our pre-defined scope of focus: hunger, shelter, and youth. We are proud to highlight several of the larger ones below. Make sure to check the Current Events section of our website for other special activities that will change week-to-week.

Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC)
ACTC sponsors a wide variety of programs for our neighbors in Baltimore County. The Center aids residents by providing food, emergency shelter, rent assistance, clothing, medicine, transportation, and utility costs. We conduct food drives to fill the ACTC pantry, and we provide Thanksgiving baskets. To get involved, contact parishioner Carol Troia through the parish office. |

Helping Up Mission
Helping Up Mission, located in downtown Baltimore, has been a highly successful recovery center for over one hundred years. Meeting the needs of homeless, drug- or alcohol-addicted inner-city residents, Helping Up Mission is making an enormous impact. The Mission provides both an overnight “traditional mission” for men and a long-term spiritually-based recovery program for approximately four hundred men. Its recovery success rate of 70% is well above virtually any other treatment offering. Epiphany provides nourishing and delicious home-cooked casseroles that supplement their normal fare. Janet Fawcett is the Epiphany parishioner who leads efforts here. |

Episcopal Housing Corporation (EHC)
Epiphany has been closely involved with EHC since its inception in this parish. This organization serves the community by providing affordable housing for individuals and families with low incomes, housing for seniors, and faith-based community development activities. We provide volunteers and funding to assist EHC in making a difference in Baltimore. |
The Ark Preschool: Episcopal Community Services of Maryland (ECSM)
The Ark, a program of ECSM, is the only state-accredited preschool for homeless children in Baltimore City. The school serves children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. It provides a short-term pre-school program that promotes children's development in all areas, especially emphasizing language and social skills. Epiphany provides financial aid, paper products, clothing, and cleaning materials. To volunteer or for more information, please contact Nancy E. Newman, LCSW-C, Director | nnewman@ecsm.org | phone (410) 522-1026 | fax (410) 558-0344 |
Arden Courts
Arden Courts is an assisted living facility for Alzheimer’s patients in Baltimore County. Parishioners, with our clergy, provide communion services to residents, as well as offering individual prayers, healing, and opportunities to sing hymns. Residents benefit from spiritual stimulation as well as the opportunity for fellowship. |
Remington
Remington is a Baltimore City neighborhood of hard-working people trying to make ends meet. Epiphany works in close partnership with the local Episcopal parish Church of the Guardian Angel, and with other parishes in the Diocese of Maryland to support ministry in this community. Our mutual efforts are focused on helping the disadvantaged of the area with food, clothing, and housing. We are active in providing dinner for children in the Homework Club, food for stocking their food pantry, and conducting a Christmas toy drive so children are assured that Santa will visit their neighborhood. Each year in August, Epiphany provides approximately sixty backpacks filled with school items for Remington kids. Youth from Epiphany have also participated for two summers at City Week in Remington. They stay in Heart’s Place Shelter, meet community leaders, prepare meals together, and volunteer through a wide range of work that includes community gardening, painting murals, housing rehab, etc.
UCAN
United Churches Assistance Network (UCAN) is an all-volunteer, cooperative organization in Cockeysville that provides emergency financial assistance to families and individuals throughout the community. Epiphany supports UCAN financially and you too can serve as a volunteer. For information, contact 410-628-2102. |
Other On-Going Outreach Efforts
We also support other worthwhile outreach and social justice initiatives, including:
• Sarah's Hope, which provides temporary shelter for women and their young children until housing can be found for them in the community
• 10,000 Villages, which makes entrepreneurial opportunities available for women in Haiti
• Muscular Dystrophy Association, where we host their annual Christmas party for children from across Maryland
Epiphany youth group members have also been active in diocesan mission trips to Honduras.
Neighbor-to-Neighbor
Initiated by and housed at Epiphany, Neighbor-to-Neighbor is a partnership effort among churches and organizations in northern Baltimore County. It focuses on reducing the incidence of homelessness in a defined corridor of Cockeysville and Timonium through housing subsidies and support services. Though funding for this program comes from a variety of sources, Neighbor-to-Neighbor would not be possible without financial support from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund. For more information about how you participate in this exciting ground-breaking effort, go to the Neighbor-to-Neighbor website or contact Program Coordinator Kate McAllister.
All Nations Mission Church Worships at Epiphany
Epiphany is pleased to open its doors to All Nations, a dedicated congregation of believers from the Korean community. All Nations offers services every Sunday afternoon in the Epiphany sanctuary, and they sponsor other programs on Thursday and Saturday evenings. We are honored to have All Nations as part of the Epiphany family!
